Geeks Get Fit!

Do you spend most of your day in front of a computer? Or do you work at home? Or maybe you just don’t have enough time to get to the gym? Well, here’s the solution you have been waiting for… http://www.pingfit.com

It’s a free application that combines serious exercises, ergonomics and social media. Here’s how it works – sign up and every 20 minutes you will get pinged (on your computer) with a new exercise to perform (usually 10 reps – only takes about 15-20 seconds). Next click “I did it” and you get a ping on the back – like “U R GR8!” and a short motivational or informational tip. Very cool reward system.

There are different levels of exercises – something for everyone – basic starter exercises, stretching, ab work, squats and pushups, dojos, or you can create your own exercise room. Hey this site rocks!  And you can join the ping facebook page and exercise with others through out the day.

You will be amazed at how fast those 20 minutes turn over and how much exercise you can accumulate in one day. I love it, because I can’t seem to get to the gym to strength train and this brings an itrainer to me in the comfort and convenience (key word here is convenience) of my home and fits my busy schedule.

I hope there is a mobile version soon. I want an iphone app.

Every 20 minutes was a little obnixious at first, but once you get into it, it works.
