There is no place quite like the good ole midwest to spend the 4th of July, where patriotism and flag waving are as much of the culture as coleslaw and apple pie. The entire town of Cheboygan turns out for the 4th of July parade down main street and fireworks at the fair grounds at night. We all head to the Cavenaugh’s (our inlaws) on the river for a roaring bonfire and front row viewing of the fireworks, that begin when it gets dark here…at 10:30.
