Anti oxidants, polyunsaturated fats, glycemic index, soy, omega 3, flax seed….the words go on and on. It is no wonder that people are confused on how to eat healthfully.
It’s really quite simple, as Michael Pollan explains in his book Food Rules, a compilation of 64 simple and easy tips to eat healthy. Here is a sampling of a few:
1.) Avoid foods you see advertised on television
2.) Don’t eat breakfast cereals that change the color of milk
3.) If it comes from a plant eat it, if it’s made in a plant, don’t
4.) Do all you eating at a table – hint, a desk is not a table
5.) Eat only when you are hungry, not when you are bored
Implement one of these tips each day for the next five days and you will be on your way to a healthier lifestyle!
